‘9 To 12’ a thriller!

The NRI director Ashok Patil living in USA, brother of actor, director and producer BC Patil a former cop and current Member of Legislative Assembly returns to Kannada cinema with ‘9 to 12’, a pack of thrill, comedy, emotions and suspense.

The film ‘9 to 12’ was flagged off by former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday morning at Kanteerava Indoor studios.

Known for grit and determination in his work Ashok Patil has given two lovely films ‘Shaapa’ (that bagged five state awards) and ‘Joke Falls’ a comedy flick and both the films starred Ramesh Aravind.

Based on an incident happened in New Delhi in the life of a Taxi Driver Ashok Patil has made immaculate screenplay to suit the present scenario sitting in USA and come back now with NRI producers – Nandish Dhananjay a software professional and dental surgeon in Bangalore Kiran Murthy.

The lot of research work Ashok Patil applied in preparing the final version of the film shows he is on the lines of Hollywood standards. After preparing crux of the film he narrated it to 10 persons of different age group and standards, and then when he prepared the screenplay he called for 10 different people and this exercise continued when it was narrated with the dialogues. In the third time Ashok Patil observed the physical reactions of listeners of his film. He took marks from all the persons and corrected where he went wrong.

‘9 to 12’ is the journey of a taxi driver from Bidadi to Yelahanka. In his three years journey to reach the destination he encounters many hazards. All of them are explained in comic, emotion and thrilling style.

The film will be shot in 25 days and maximum of it will be night shooting. Vibrant actor Kishore plays the main lead of taxi driver and BC Patil is the cop with realistic feel in this film. Smitha plays the vegetable seller with high power in her role.

Niranjan Babu has located the shooting spots traveling with director Ashok Patil. The additional lights to street lights are required he feels. Sai Karthik scores the music.
